About Us
The inaugural Zimbabwe Real Estate and Construction Summit which was hosted on the 12 th -14 th of December 2024 served as a vital platform for networking, dialogue, and exploring new avenues for growth within Zimbabwe's burgeoning real estate and construction sectors. This edition became the first ever and only full hybrid real estate and construction event in Zimbabwe history which included symposiums, project tours exhibitions and awards. This format enabled widespread participation, gathering insights and ideas from various stakeholders, including government officials, private-sector executives, urban planners, and innovative developers. The event opened doors for collaboration, fostering synergies that are essential for navigating the challenges facing the industry.
The Second Edition
Zimbabwe’s real estate and construction sector stands at a critical juncture. With a national housing backlog exceeding 2 million units in Harare alone, a largely outdated regulatory framework, limited access to mortgage finance, and underutilized infrastructure development capacity in some instances and yet vast amounts of land owned by institutions without financial capacity to develop, the industry faces immense challenges to meet an obviously high demand for real estate. Yet, it also presents one of the country’s greatest opportunities for inclusive economic growth, employment creation, and urban renewal.
